As you might know, the Australian Government recently did a big review of the NDIS and decided that there needs to be more support outside of the NDIS.
They implementing a new service environment that will be called "Foundational Supports".
The idea is that Foundational Supports will be available to people who need extra support but may not need NDIS. Kind of like a bridge between "mainstream supports" and the NDIS.
Mainstream supports means things that every Australian can access, like Medicare, public education, public transport, council-run programs etc.
The Government conducted a "consultation" to hear what people think Foundational Supports should look like.
At Sunny, we are passionate about autism inclusion. We are unique because we are not only a "business" that provides services to Autistic people, but we are also employers of Autistic people, and we are Autistic ourselves. We can see the system from different angles.
This is why we decided to submit our thoughts on what Foundational Supports could look like.
